1e. One of the problems faced by India is a rapid population growth because of its high birth rate. This leads to a higher demand of resources, housing, education and jobs. It can also lead to environmental problems. As the populations increases, the demand for resources such as food and water also increases. This leads to a shortage of food and clean water. The people will not have enough food and water which leads to a higher death rate.

  1. As compared to Hong Kong, India has a much larger population. There is a higher rate of natural increase because India has a high birth rate but a low death rate. I agree that the potential problems that would be faced is a shortage of food resources, housing, education and jobs due to the country's rapidly increasing population. To control the birth rate, the government could fine families who have more than a certain number of children allowed or they can also offer incentives to Indians to control the birth rate. To curb the shortage of food resources, these resources can be imported from other countries.

  4. Japan has a much smaller population compared to India. India also has a much higher birth rate and a lower death rate as the population is bigger. It is amazing how those people can live in such a crowded environment. The population pyramid is also shaped like a triangle. If the population of India continues to grow rapidly, they might lack of space and that will affect the way they are living.

  5. Singapore has a much smaller population as compared to India. The population pyramid of India is pyramid-shaped whereas Singapore's population pyramid is beehive-shaped. This shows the high birth and death rates in India. At this rate, India will be over-populated.
